Portal privacy

This page is the Locktons client portal. It is separate from the practice sign-in used by Locktons staff. Locktons, of Lockton House Business Centre, King Street, Mablethorpe, LN12 2EQ, uses it to show you documents we have prepared for you, your invoices and statements, and engagement letters you have accepted. The practice is Dr Gary Lockton, gary@locktons.com, 01476 590999. The files are encrypted in the database. A backup cannot be read without the practice encryption key. The service runs in the EU, in Amsterdam. We do not use the portal for marketing, and we do not sell the information in it. You sign in with your email, a password, and a second check: an authenticator app, or a code we email you. On a device you choose to remember, that second check is skipped for 30 days. A new device still asks for it. The sign-in ends after eight hours. Too many wrong attempts lock it for a short time. Locktons can switch a sign-in off. The client portal is the preferred secure way to send documents to us. Please use it rather than ordinary email when you can. What you can see is limited to your own record and the businesses on that record. Opening or downloading a document is written to the practice audit log, including the time. Documents stay with your client record. They are not kept in a separate store with a different retention period. When the relationship ends, the record is archived, the portal sign-in is switched off, and the documents are kept and deleted with the rest of the file. Ask us if you want a copy of your record, or if something in the portal is wrong.
